How to take care of the bouquet
We recommend following some simple rules for caring for bouquets:
Temperature adaptation: If you've brought flowers in from the cold, allow them to adapt to room temperature. Unwrap the bouquet and let it "warm up" for about 10-15 minutes before placing it in water.
Remember: The lifespan of live flowers varies depending on the species. For example, bush roses retain freshness for a shorter time than single-headed ones, while bush chrysanthemums and carnations stay fresher longer compared to other types.
Stem preparation: Remove the lower leaves from the stems to prevent bacterial growth in the water. Refresh the stems under running water and cut the bottom of each stem at a 45° angle with a sharp knife. This angle maximizes pore opening for better water absorption.
Don't forget: Daily trimming of flower stems helps maintain the bouquet's freshness. Over time, stems can become clogged, making water absorption difficult. Refreshing the cut provides flowers with better access to moisture, extending their life.
Water in the vase: Use cold water. Cold water helps flowers stay fresh longer by slowing bacterial development and providing optimal conditions for plant life.
Note: Water quality affects the bouquet's longevity. Tap water may contain chlorine and minerals harmful to flowers. Filtered water is much cleaner and helps prevent deposits on stems and bacterial growth, prolonging the bouquet's freshness.
Vase placement: Place the vase with the bouquet in a location protected from direct sunlight, drafts, and heating devices.
Keep in mind: Direct sunlight can cause overheating and accelerate the wilting of bouquet flowers. To preserve their freshness and vibrancy, protect the bouquet from direct sunlight.
Daily care: Change the water daily, rinse the stems in cold water, and refresh the cuts. When changing the water, you can add a small drop of household bleach to the vase. This keeps the stems clean, prevents bacterial growth, and maintains the necessary humidity.
Care for arrangements in floral foam: If your bouquet is made using floral foam, make sure the foam remains moist by watering it once every two days.
By following these simple recommendations, you can preserve the freshness and vibrancy of your bouquet, making it the centerpiece of attention in your home or at an event. Take care of your flowers properly, and they will reward you with their beauty!
