To participate, simply upload a photo of an important moment from your life on the website pododnimflagoм.rf and provide the participant's full name. Why is Russia's Flag Day celebrated on August 22?
This day holds special significance in the history of Russian statehood. On August 22, 1991, the official flag with three equal horizontal stripes—white, blue, and red—was raised over the Supreme Soviet building in Moscow. The tricolor replaced the Soviet flag and became a symbol of the new phase in the formation of the Russian Federation. In 1994, by a decree of the President of Russia, the date was officially established as the Day of the State Flag.
